Hillcrest Baptist Church met by quorum on Sunday, April 19th, 2026 and voted to close its school.
Over the past several months, the school’s Board of Directors has carefully evaluated the future of Hillcrest Academy. Like many small private schools, it has experienced challenges including declining enrollment and rising operational costs. 
After thoughtful discussion, the decision was made to close Hillcrest Academy at the end of the current (25/26) school year.
Upon dissolution, pursuant to Chapter 1002 Section 42 of the 2018 Florida Statues, Hillcrest Academy will transfer all permanent student records to the Putnam County district school superintendent. All former students looking to obtain such records now or in the future, may contact the district superintendent directly.
